The card has Convoke, the decks central mechanic, and it also rewards you for generating tokens, the decks most prominent sub-theme
Nonetheless, Mirran Crusader is an incredible aggressor against Golgari (Green/Black) and Jund (Green/Black/Red) decks thanks to its protection from green and black
From a gameplay perspective, it's incredibly easy to get out, immensely oversized on the battlefield, and resilient to removal, since you can cast it from the graveyard
Okay, part of why I like it is because the artwork reminds me of what would later become the logo for Wikipedia (which this card definitely predates), and it's a nice little way to show little pieces of puzzle falling off someone's memory
