Sure, a Drannith Magistrate is about as safe a stax piece as they come, but land an ill-timed Teferi, Time Raveler and suddenly you are the only player capable of holding back the bevy of opponent win attempts which may be made as the game progresses
You could also play it with cards that give double strike for the combo kill
Its a cool Voltron commander, but the deck isnt built to support that play pattern, and its kind of light on energy production, which makes it tricky to keep LP around
Instead, Training Staff slows your game early, but over time can really add up
