Eldrazi already tend to reward you quite well for the large amounts of mana you put into them, why not make that reward even more absurd

Sure, it costs the same amount as Jace, the Mind Sculptor and it isnt nearly as powerful, but theres a lot of room for a card to be worse than a card thats banned in Modern and still be good

The one life loss is negligible, and even beneficial in some decks like Vilis, Broker of Blood

You have a pretty good chance of getting more than 3 mana's worth of value out of Brimaz
