Prunus lusitanica Pink Edible after being 'bletted' byA lovely evergreen shrub or tree with oval dark green leaves on carmine red stalks. Small white, fragrant flowers on long racemes in June often followed by red fruits turning dark glossy purple. Brilliant for hedging or screening. Does well on chalk soils. NOTE: Fruit is harmful if eaten. Hardy to 5c, but has withstood recent cold winters very well.
