Coba Ruins Tulum, Carved Wooden Jaguar Head Art, Vintage, 1970's Puzzle and comes in it's originalThis spectacular vintage carved wooden jaguar head was made by indigenous artisans near the Mayan ruins of Coba outside of Tulum. The date of creation is unknown, possibly 1970's or earlier, generally classified as folk art. The wood is worn with age. There is a hint of red paint behind the left ear, indicating that at one point it may have been painted before being sanded down and stained a dark rich natural brown. It is almost life size with glass
