Description

This beautiful early 20th-century oil on canvas by Danish artist Carl Budtz-Mølle (1882-1953) is a triumphant celebration of light

which guides your eye between the trees and out towards the hills

Artists working in this manner would often combine elements from their own natural world with fictional components from their imagination

Given the outfit

Darkened over time but could be cleaned with a profound effect if required

Hermann Kätelhön, Two Miners People This beautiful early 20th-century oilThis exquisite woodcut by German illustrator Herman Ktelhn (1884 1940) depicts two miners. They stand before the entrance of a mine both with rugged features and tired expressions. Between 1918 and 1940, Ktelhn produced various etchings and lithographs describing the ever industrialised German landscape and the workers labouring within it. He held a deep respect for the mining community and immersed himself in its claustrophobic underground world.
