Funky Frog (Teegan Dowdell) for String Orchestra batons Solos for Young Cellists isFunky Frog was inspired by one of my favourite French cafs in my hometown. The focus is for students to develop string crossings (the jumping frog) as well as development of F and C naturals accidentals (the funky), as well as C sharps on the G string in the Violin II part. There is some healthy arco and pizzicato interplay between all five parts in the final section of the piece, encouraging students to count their rests like never before! Grade 2.
