The mark on the underside of each piece was used circa 1939

Due to competition from lower cost sources

It has an applied pocket on the left chest and on either side

This is a lovely antique porcelain plate made by Haviland & Co of Limoges

The piece is marked on its underside with “Buchan Portobello Scotland Finest Stoneware Made in Scotland 187 2016 and hand initialed by the artist who painted the design

The underside of the plate is marked with the Royal Copenhagen crown mark along with three blue waves, the pattern number 711, the shape number 9434 and the artists initials of mel+. The bar under the letter n in Denmark dates the manufacture of the piece to 1957. The
