The Black mulberry matures relatively quickly to a characterful specimen with a pleasant, picturesque domed crown and curious vivid green leaves which can vary, on the same tree, between heart shaped or deeply lobed in varying wavy patterns. Produces large, deep red to almost black edible fruits, much sweeter than its cousin Morus alba. Prefers a sunny, sheltered site.
