本品は八角の器形の側面に象嵌で花文が施されてあります。花文といえば、菊の花が丸々と絵が描かれるものが多いのですが、本品の花文は、あまり見かけない表現のものです。

白磁の焼き上がりがよく、静けさを感じる素朴な白。

もとの持ち主の話では、中国の古寺院の解体ででたものと聞いておりますが、
