Chinese Cloisonne Horse, Standing White with Saddle 2019 This fellow is Factory MintThis pretty pony is modern Chinese cloisonne. Cloisonne pieces are made of metal (usually brass or copper) with thin wires welded on to create designs. Enamel is then hand painted into each segmented space, then the whole thing is fired in a kiln and then polished. Gold paint (sometimes real gold leaf) is often added for bright, metallic accents.
