A very fine example printed in red purple on gummed, crown watermarked paper, with part original gum and clipped perforations at foot. This colour trial was produced for the monocolour issue and submitted on 24 February 1910 to the Inland Revenue. The grey colour was ultimately chosen from the colour trials. A very rare King Edward VII colour trial with no more than two or three examples of each colour
