An extraordinary wall hanging with museum worthy fine silk embroidery

Measurements: 108cm X 39cm + 6cm fringe

The hanging has been finished along tge lower edge with a lovely faded magenta silk fringe

Redwork was popular and is worked in the same style as blackwork, hand embroidered in a single colour onto a white or off white ground. Probably taken from bed hangings this panel is a lovely example of embroidery from this era. Measurements: 38cm tall x 30cm wide Condition: Signs of wear commensurate with age, multiple tears and some discolouration. Red thread
