When painting the Boathouse at Crom I was trying to find a way to paint it without the looming presence of the Castle in the background

I had to get the castle to work really well or the rest wouldn't make sense

from the La Fayette building on the left through the elegant lamp stands on the bride to O’Connell and the distant towering Spire on the right

Designed by George Ashlin, an architect renowned for his work on religious buildings such as Cobh Cathedral, the stables now house Olives Caf and a gallery space for local artists. In recent years, restoration work has been completed, including the retiling of the roof.
