Han Dynasty Pottery Footsoldier  leisterprong often commissioned by husbands andWestern Han Dynasty, c. 206 BC 220 AD, Shaanxi Province, China This impressive pottery model of a footsoldier is crafted from underlying grey pottery, with much of its original painted pigments still intact. The soldier is dressed in plate armor worn over a thigh length tunic and shortened white trousers, with black high boots protecting his feet. His padded garments, especially the thick collars and sleeves, provided additional defense against arrows
