Purphoros gets even better when you start taking your spare mana and pumping your board for +1/+0 to push even more damage.

Wipes tend to cost 4-5 mana these days, but Doomskar can get you out from under some of Magic's fastest starts, while also concealing other forms of interaction like Saw It Coming

The upside is that it's colorless, so you can run it in any deck, and it's also lacking any sort of restrictions, so you can search up any card at all from your sideboard
