Using the earlier example of Mana Vault and Izzet Signet, a fast-mana deck under Rule of Law needs to choose between casting their mana rocks and casting the things that those mana rocks would normally allow them to, like interaction or threats
Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer is far more interesting because it plays well with the Thopter subtheme but still falls a little short because basically all the token generation in the deck makes Thopters
That said, it might be a safer choice for a permanent than Atraxa or Valgavoth, so a one-of might be viable
They were released in the first Un -set back in August of 1998
Even then, most of the time, youre only going to be able to reduce it by a mana or two
