I suspect that there will be many versions of midrange control, most likely in the Abzan and Temur wedges, and that they will be packing the most efficient removal spells their color combinations have to offer

In other words, Elvish Mystic cannot generate more than one mana a turn unless some other card causes it to untap

For example, you can't cast a creature card with mayhem you couldn't normally cast during an opponent's turn, even if you discard that card during an opponent's turn

Its fan service, yes, but I struggle to see that it matters
