Variance can make a decent deck look bad and a bad deck look good if you wind up only looking at a small sample size, so I'm still not ready to declare this to be a no-good, terrible, failure of an experiment that you should not try yourself
You play it in basically all the cube decks that have good green and white mana production and not just these archetypes
Almost a build around, the only reason it is not is that in red you might as well just limit yourself to goblins and run Prospector
Each player can customise their deck with forty
It's also in the colors in Commander for a sacrifice body with Golgari Aristocrats, which will ramp you 3 mana each death if you can find a way to drop them all
A deck that focuses on banishing monsters, such as a banish control deck or a deck that utilizes banished monsters for strategic purposes, would benefit from using Alpha Summon
