Because most of the creatures in the deck can be cast for three generic mana, you often have a board of creatures that rest of the table must take seriously

Furthermore, when its on-play effect of enabling the player to play a Character card with a cost of 2 or less after revealing the decks top card is combined with the effect of the decks titular Leader card from Two Legends [OP-08], the player is able to essentially play any 2-cost Character card for free as soon as Ivankov enters play, thus improving the players board presence
It's not a surprise that things don't translate well, and my expectations were low to begin with, but ultimately I'm still disappointed
The Enchanted variant is looking fairly valuable as well, currently sitting at around $190 market price, while its Legendary is fetching around $6-$8 right now as well
