I cant claim to be such a mastermind as to have picked three mana for my hypothetical for this exact reason, but it is kinda poetic to see that two of the most universal and useful ways to gain incidental life in the format cost three mana at face value
If youre playing Gishash as one of 99, you have to be even more prepared emotionally to lose it, because your opponents will see it as their only shot
For example, if a creature has two shield counters on it as Bribe Taker's triggered ability resolves, Bribe Taker's controller may put only one counter on it, either a +1/+1 counter or a shield counter
But perhaps you also just drop an Insatiable Avarice and just set something juicy on the top of your deck
Not bad, considering what theyre estimated to be worth 10 years later
