Its signature move, Psystrike, calculates damage using the opponent's Defense stat rather than Special Defense, making it effective against Pokmon specifically built to absorb special attacks
If you activate Thought Lash three times, you effectively get three shields that prevent you from taking 1 damage, and you get to decide how those are dispensed
But there just aren't enough new cards to really make that matter
This is less of an issue with the 2013 precons, since that set had cards like [mtg_card]Gahiji, Honored One[/mtg_card] and [mtg_card]Nekusar, the Mindrazer[/mtg_card]cards that encourage attacking, or drive the game toward a natural conclusion by dealing damage to everyone
Generally, this will be much less efficient, but is completely viable if you wish to build your deck in this direction
Meanwhile, TCGPlayers extensive card database, lower fees, and seller leveling system make it the better option for anyone who wants to sell cards as a long-term business venture
