What is striking is that these cards, unlike the later Pokmon TCG cards, were mainly focused on collecting and not so much on strategic play

I can easily foresee a scenario where you have about 20 tokens in play and you can cast Banefire for just one mana to nug an opponent for twenty damage if you build to deck right
