Since all of these are modal spells with a huge variety of abilities, decks that load up on them become the swiss army knife version of a Control deck: you probably have an answer to any given situation in your hand, even if that answer isn't the best
However, if there are easy repeatable methods of gaining life (even Ajanis Mantra, given that there will presumably be more lifegain/drain payoffs), then Epicure of Blood could be a surprisingly decent win condition in a grindy deck, or a way to get in those last few points of damage

The impending cost is pretty expensive if you never get to turn this into a creature, but thats kinda the point
