I suspect WotC just wants to take a breather and see how things play out before continuing to act
Rather than cards that do nothing due to being expensive and then requiring further conditions to be met to enact their effect thus ultimately doing nothing, the cube do nothings are low resource cost cards that have incredibly minor, often negligible effects
a small amount of lifegain is but a drop in the ocean, particularly in a format where players start at 40 life
Where its worth splashing just a teensy bit of Blue into this deckIve had great results from adding only dual-colour Towns like Baron, Airship Kingdom and Guadosalam, Farplane Gatewayis Choco, Seeker of Paradise
Outside of running a compliment of Counterspell's, Im inclined to go the route of cards like City of Solitude, Dosan the Falling Leaf, Teferi, Time Raveler and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir forcing most if not all players at the table into the same tempo of game play
