Players play and activate cards in order to gain the lore needed to propel them toward victory, challenge their opponents characters to slow their progress and use other abilities, usually by paying ink from their inkwell

Cruella De Vil, Miserable as Usual allows you to return a character back to a player's hand , showing off that once a character is on the field, they can be bounced back to their owner, forcing them to pay more ink to bring them back or get rid of them
Each character card has an assigned number of Lore points that they are worth when that character goes Questing
Part of the Emerald deck, card number 70/204 costs only five ink to play and can collect two lore when questing, and interestingly it cannot be added to the inkwell to gain ink
