"Dark Magician" is a Level 7 Spellcaster Normal Monster with 2500 ATK/2100 DEF, and there are cards that "Dark Magician" is involved with like "Dark Magician Girl" (whose effect can increase her own ATK by 300 for each "Dark Magician" is in the Graveyard), "Skilled Dark Magician" (Tribute itself when it has 3 Spell Counters to Special Summon "Dark Magician" from the owner's hand, Deck, or Graveyard), "Dark Magic Attack" (destroy all Spells/Traps on the opponent's field when "Dark Magician" is on the owner's field), "Dark Magic Curtain" (pay half of the LP to Special Summon "Dark Magician" from the owner's Deck), and "Miracle Restoring" (remove 2 Spell Counters on the owner's field to Special Summon "Dark Magician" or "Buster Blader" in the owner's Graveyard onto the field)
