I had to balance investing creatures and mana into ramping with my Sword of the Animist or drawing cards with Mask of Memory, often grabbing them off of Stoneforge Mystic

This works well if youre building decks or organizing playsets

Whenever another creature dies, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature
