After much deliberation, I decided on a list of Top Five Designed Cards, with one card from each of Rivals of Ixalan , Battlebond , Dominaria , Core Set 2019 , Commander 2018 and Guilds of Ravnica
Pitiless Plunderer and Gemcutter Buccaneer walk the plank for being too focused on making Treasure work in a deck that really just wants to keep playing Pirates
We have a four-mana kill spell in mono-Green (assuming you do it correctly, of course), then it pumps something, then it resurrects that same huge thing we used to kill the other thing
The other breakout card from the deck has been Trouble in Pairs, which is sort of like whites Rhystic Study, letting you draw cards when your opponents do things
You don't want a 4/6 that quests for 1 or 2, even at the discounted Shift cost
A number of the most valuable cards in the set feature the fading keyword due to their historical cachet as well as some of them still holding up in terms of sheer power 25 years after this set released
