Since our deck is five colors its nice to get Agent of Erebos to keep graveyard shenanigans under control, and Doomwake Giant to sweep away hordes of small token creatures that often get out of hand in Commander
I think its most interesting home could be in a Standard control deck, however - in a two color strategy with a solid manabase, this card provides card draw over a few turns , a board presence or a blocker for one life, or a Treasure token to eventually ramp into game-winning spells
Once you have a few 1-drops to enable this and get back two or even three creatures, you might be on to something
The best cards to proxy share a common trait: they are powerful enough to belong in almost any deck of their colour, expensive enough that buying originals is hard to justify for casual play, and impactful enough that having them genuinely improves your games
