While it's a fine card and scales throughout the game, there are a ton of graveyard-centric / reanimation decks in Commander, and it seems unlikely that Gyrus, Waker of Corpses will beat out most of the pre-existing options outside of something like Jund Hydra tribal (and then, it's not even that good with many Hydras since they are X-creatures, which won't work with the reanimation ability)

It creates an awkward scenario for your opponent because they either have to trade off one of their own creatures or removal spells for it, or else they risk allowing you to accumulate value

My only Temur commander was Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm, but after playing it a few times I didnt really like how powerful it was

You also get a number of characters with rush for instant attacking and evaisive cards that cant be challenged directly by many other colors
