Both of those abilities are great, but you also get to put another counter on a permanent every time you cast a noncreature spell
I have a hard time calling something thats a Food or Treasure-specific sac outlet or a Thopter-specific haste enabler a token payoff
As you collect new cards, you can improve upon the starter decks by adding in new and better spells that make for more effective combos
Zimone's Hypothesis is an interesting board wipe with some one-sided potential, and Giggling Skitterspike toy gets a shoutout for being absolutely terrifying (nice Toy Story reference, though)
Scry is always good in decks that cast tons of spells (and usually draw tons of cards), and Ive already spoken on the virtues of cards with prowess and evasive abilities
Madness cards also shine here, letting you cast discarded spells immediately
