This effect can cause Identity Thief to become a copy of a creature that cant normally attack, such as Lupine Prototype or a creature with defender

If, for some reason, the creature doesn't have the squad ability when it's on the battlefield, the ability won't trigger, even if you've paid the squad cost one or more times

Its also worth considering the packs condition and seal, since older booster packs only exist as original 20112013 prints without modern reprints
