Adding a new color would completely change the relationships between the colors, and could totally skew the rest of the color pie

The loss of life and card advantage allow Vampiric to reasonably just cost one which in turn allows you to keep even one land hands if they are good enough and you have Vamp to get you out of it
Jaheira is awesome, since it makes your Food tokens into Mox Emeralds, and extra mana is always welcome
High Inkability helps Belle Ramp run more smoothly A lot of decks right now are running a high un-Inkable count (number of cards that cant be added to the Inkwell)
