Backed by both that nostalgic appeal and what so far looks to be rich potential for proper gameplay depth, Lorcana manages to find a deft balance between being a light Disney title that casual players can get into though its playful, gorgeously-rendered takes on characters, songs and moments from the movies, and succesfully laying what feels like a solid enough foundation to grow an enjoyable game beyond its licensed ties
And while it may seem unfair to compare a (relatively) brand new game like Lorcana to games that have been around for decades, the fact is all of these games are competing in the same market, and Lorcana is falling short
Instead, they might give it away on the last session to anyone whod played in the season or maybe attended more than once, etc
Just make sure you Hakuna Matata when you look at the price
They bring their own experience and perspective to the table, which truly elevates the final result
