The deck is for both a 1v1 and Group setting - the hardest part is overcoming the politics and stigma of playing Poison counters
As far as strategy goes I would only use this card once in my deck for the Poke-Power so you could get back three cards at once instead of one card at a time with some trainers from the discard pile, and even with this Poke-Power you can only put these three cards on top of your deck so you can't get them immediately
In fact, I would go so far as to say that knowing their path to victory directly contributed to making those players better high-tier optimization came naturally as a result of playing towards their win condition
