I'm going to be straight about what GrimDeck does differently and where it's still catching up

By moving all those counters onto it and doubling them, you suddenly have a trampling monster that threatens lethal damage

I still love my Captain Nghathrod deck, but Im scarred by how difficult to run it can be (because of the number of triggers and high mana costs)

Same total mana value, and they both dish out counters when they attack, though Expanding Ooze needs a modified creature to target

Perhaps the most exciting thing to me, though, is that it gives me hope we might see Pestilent Spirits deathtouch spellslinger angle again
