At least other cards like Moat are cheaper

So what makes this card so exciting

Incidentally, I would love to find a way to work Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx into the deck, but it will definitely require accurately predicting the field to tune the sideboard

Not only does this creature protect itself, but it provides each other Merfolk you control with Ward 1, making them also more difficult to remove
