it reduces the advantage of Library of Alexandria, Braingeyser, and Jayemdae Tome, and reduces the disadvantage of Mind Twist, any of which can be nearly fatal in Old School matches

Green also has cards that check for a creatures power at certain phases of the game, like Sylvan Scavenging and Primal Empathy that get much stronger when pump spells ensure you meet the power requirements

Newer black cards like Plague Engineer and Mare also diminish the value of this as they are so comparably brutal you really do need to be playing around them somewhat
