Aside from being slightly more expensive to cast, the main difference between them and this card is that those cards trigger off of creatures entering the battlefield rather than being cast

Id like to point out that while the rules more vaguely state permanent and not creature, all of the cards that actively have the persist ability are creatures or grant it to creatures
