Both are great threats with frightening life gaining potentials but the Wurmcoil tends to offer more value and can go in more decks so is the better card overall
Thankfully, the deck has some powerful reprints to make up for this, including Jeska's Will, Xenagos, the Reveler and Laelia, the Blade Reforged
Im not sure why this needed to exist, but it provides possibly the best mana fixing in Commander this way
