When we say alternatives, we shall restrict ourselves to cards that function similarly to interrupt attacks, i.e
strong, but only situationally useful
(10/1/2009) A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature is subject to the "summoning sickness" rule: It can only attack, and its abilities can only be activated, if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn.
This was the card I sideboarded out the most throughout the tournament

These are easy to understand cards, but their interactions could prove more complicated than we're used to seeing in these "more basic" sets
