Idol of False Gods Idol of the False Gods is a solid little uncommon
This is why top-performing decks often run 8 or more cards that serve the same strategic role (for example, 8 one-mana removal spells rather than just 4 copies of a single card)
I edited the question myself to hopefully indicate that more clearly (the title in particular was quite misleading).TheThirdMan TheThirdMan2017-11-16 11:19:44 +00:00Commented Nov 16, 2017 at 11:19 3Possible duplicate of Which cards can Spike, Tournament Grinder tutor for?Joe W Joe W2017-11-16 12:43:03 +00:00Commented Nov 16, 2017 at 12:43 @JoeW See the comment I posted above as a reply to the last person who voted to make this a duplicate of that question
It's very powerful in a deck that cares, and you can grow your battlefield over time from a 3-drop Reclamation Sage to a Timeless Witness then an Acidic Slime then a game-winning Carnage Tyrant
Spending five mana to give each player the option of a draw-seven at sorcery speed means that your opponent will get the first crack at actually casting the cards, but spending six mana for the opportunity to leverage the cards drawn first is much more powerful if you can afford to take a turn off
I think this is going to be a strong set, despite some murmurings that it'll feel like another Spider-man set, which had some shining stars but overall fell flat for many players
