That Shadow deck in particular took full advantage of Reanimates other big edge: resurrecting opposing creatures under your control is surprisingly useful, especially if you arent playing an all-in Reanimator strategy and are less likely to have a target in your own yard
Its a great addition to decks that generate lots of artifact tokens or rely on activated abilities for value
Dauthi Voidwalker runs into the same issue, but it is pretty good so I wouldn't cut it
When buying collections from that era, I find far more copies of Force of Will hanging out with the other uncommons than I do in the remnants of decks
Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland permanent card
